Shared decision making
When Simone got cancer, she and her doctor faced a very difficult decision. In this movie you will learn about her choice, and about shared decision making. Shared decision-making is a process in which clinicians and patients work together to find the best solution, in a situation where none of the available treatments is best for everyone. Instead, the best treatment is a question of what is most important to the patient, and what is known about the consequences of the alternatives. Shared decision-making is at the core of the new patient role: No decisions about me, without me.
